Maid of Honor

I'm Kenzie’s cousin from Michigan, currently living in Detroit.  Although we’ve never lived local to one another, distance has never kept us from having a relationship as strong as sisters.  Some of our best memories together include spending time on Brissette Beach ice skating, bike riding, catching frogs/turtles and family vacations in St. Thomas, Scotland, and England.

I met Elliot roughly 30 years ago while playing tag on a steep hillside at a party.  We soon became friends, and over the years, he has become my brother.  We've always competed and pushed each other to become better, whether it was a game, sports, work, or just life in general.  There's no one else I'd rather have as a friend and business partner.

Many are lucky to be friends with Elliot - I get to be his big brother too! The day he was born I remember thinking of all the adventures we might have together and how that might change my life. In the years since, those adventures and experiences as brothers, roommates and partners in many things have made me a better person and along the way we’ve developed deep camaraderie and respect. I can see he’s brought all those traits to his relationship with Kenzie and I’m very happy to support them as they make a new life together.

I met Kenzie in Charleston and we immediately formed a close friendship. We stuck by each other through sickness, injury, and bad decisions while our friendship blossomed into a lifetime bond of loving and supporting each other in our continued growth and success. I can’t wait to see where life takes her from here.

Our paths were running parallel in Asheville for some time, and then FINALLY they crossed and I’m so thankful they did! I won you over playing a White Reaper cover on the Lazoom bus and then we both went out of our way one night to meet for drinks. The rest is history and I’m so LUCKY to have you in my corner!

I can’t exactly pinpoint the first time Kenzie and I met (most likely while I was waiting in line at AC’s), but I knew our friendship was something special after spending a day with her at Highwater Festival in 2017. Enjoying the same music and sharing all the laughs while drinking Charles Bradley’s wine and Nathanial Rateliff’s Jameson backstage, and singing our hearts out in the wings watching the Shins backstage. Ever since we’ve been “Festie Besties” and not much has really changed, still laughing to the point of tears and hanging out backstage with the artists. I am so thankful she convinced me to sneak backstage at Highwater because if I had known what a special relationship we were going to have I would never have hesitated! And fortunately now we have Elliot to join us on our festival adventures for many years to come. Love you both to the end of the universe and back!

I’m lucky enough to have Elliot as my big brother and even more lucky now to get a new sister like Kenzie! I remember when Elliot first told me about Kenzie and how happy and excited he was to tell me about her. Once I met her I knew she was a perfect match for him. Me and Elliot have always had the best times growing up and has always been there for me. From playing Rockband at our parents house, to taking me to get my first beer when I turned 21, He has been one of my best friends. I’m so excited to see him get married and for what adventures are to come for him and Kenzie!

I met with drummer Wayne to start a new band and we needed a bassist.   I said, “Man, it’d be cool to get that sexy bass man from Silvermane.”  Wayne knew him and set up the meeting.  The following week I was having dinner with my favorite bass player and little did I know at the time, one of my future closest friends.

Groomsman

It was a late Friday night. I was playing drums at that time for a small band called Fed to Lions. We were playing a gig at the old Radio Room (RIP). It was a typical night, kids smoking cigs outside, a couple of old guys getting too friendly at the bar, David pouring drinks and telling jokes, some people playing pool, a band playing that you had never heard of before, and the smell of regret lingering in the air, also the sticky carpet that your shoes stuck to, can’t forget that! I believe my band had just finished up and we were trying to drink enough to forget the set. All of a sudden, the lead guitarist slaps me on my back and I turn around to see this tall, long haired, goofy looking kid. He said “hey! My names Elliot and I play bass”. And I was like “no way! My name is Elliott and I play drums!”. I will absolutely say he is one of the best bassists I’ve ever played with. Great writer and better showman. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I met Elliot when I was dating Callie.  He seemed cool enough.  Now I’m working for him and my life’s changed forever.

Groomsman

Years ago, while working for a tyrant in a new industry, Elliot came in as a new member to the team.  I observed his work ethic and character.  It didn't take long before Elliot and I befriended each other. We spent many early mornings and late nights working together along with an occasional beer, game of pool, and some adventurous trips for work.  We got to know each other pretty well over time.  Elliot is one of the most loyal people I know with a unique perspective in life and business.  As time went on, I realized that Elliot would be a lifelong friend.

Throughout our marriage a common question has been, “How did you meet?” We often laugh and say “We met in a bar.”  It is 48 years later and that meeting has stuck.  Interesting that Danielle (yes, we call her that) and Elliot (he only needs one “T”) met the same way and that Elliot is a musician as Danielle’s grandfather, father, and two uncles are.  We are thrilled to watch their happiness and are looking forward to the celebration of their wedding and the addition of Elliot to our family!

Parents of the Groom

Being Elliot’s parents has been one of our greatest privileges and joys. Born at 10 and a half pounds he grew into a tall and handsome amazing man. Our only complaint is that the years flew by far too quickly. Here we are now as he is about to marry Kenzie, the love of his life and we couldn’t be happier. The mutual love and respect they have and sense of humor will surely prove to be strengths as they begin this most wonderful journey together. We love them both so much!
